Siegrist, Henry (? - 2 MAR 1896)

Died, at the National Soldier’s Home in Milwaukee, on Monday, March 2nd, 1896, Henry Siegrist.

Henry Siegrist was, at one time, one of the most prominent men in Calumet Co., Wis., where he held the office of sheriff for one term. He afterwards came to this place (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), took up a homestead near the village and later opened a shoe shop in the village, being a master of that trade, but the habits formed during his short political career pulled him down until he was left with nothing but a broken constitution. He was always a whole souled, good fellow and had hosts of friends and many of them will shed a tear of sincere regret at his sad ending.
