Bernice V. Szczech

December 25, 1908 - October 5, 1986

Stanley, WI -- Bernice V. Szczech, 77, Route 3, Stanley, died Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Service will be held Wednesday at St. Mary's of Czestochowa Church, Stanley. The Revs. John Pinion and Francis Wavra will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday at Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, where a parish rosary will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The former Bernice Symbal was born Dec. 25, 1908 in Stanley.

She was married to Joseph Szczech June 11, 1929, in St. Hedwig's Church, Thorp. They lived and farmed in the Thorp and Stanley area. Her husband died Feb. 10, 1985.

She was a member of St. Mary's of Czestochowa parish and was an honorary member of the Rosary Society.

Surviving are two sons, Francis, Stanley, and Joseph, Maple Grove, Minn; four daughters, Mrs. George (Joanne) Konieczny, Mrs. John (Carol) Szymanski, and Mrs. William (Mary) Boh, all of Marshfield, and Mrs. Frank (Stephanie) Kotecki, Eau Claire; four brothers, Edward, Washburn, Walter and Alex, both of Thorp, and Stanley, of Stanley; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, four sisters, and a brother.
