Schultz, Arthur Richard (28 July 1921 - 6 Aug. 1997)

Colby - Arthur Richard Schultz, 76, Colby, died Aug. 6, 1997, at Colonial House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the town of Colby. The Rev. DuWayne Schneider will officiate.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Schultz, Wayne Schultz, Edward Johnson, Donald "Jake" Hedler, John Weis and Clifford Schulz.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Friday at Community Funeral Home and again from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the Church.

Arthur was born July 28, 1921, in the town of Colby, to Ernest and Selma (Witte) Schultz. He attended school in the town of Colby.

Arthur and Erma Augustine were married Jan. 13, 1945, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. They farmed in the town of Colby, until they retired and moved to Colby three and one-half years ago. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Erma Schultz of Colby; four sons, David (Anne) Schultz of Tualatin, Ore., Kenneth (Donna) Schultz of Kansas City, Kan., Ronald Schultz of Marshfield and Gary (Terri) Schultz of Colby; six grandchildren; and a step-brother, Harold (Frieda) Block of Colby.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol; his brother, Ervin and by his parents.
