Greenwood (22 Jun 1972)

Members of the United Methodist women of Greenwood were guests of the women at the Methodist church in Neillsville Thursday afternoon. They were Mrs. Robert Clintsman, Mrs. Effie Swieso, Mrs. Truman Hill, Mrs. Leota Murphy, Mrs. Wilbur Stewart, Mrs. Edgar Opdycke, Mrs. Kathryn Ivey, Mrs. Elery Moberg, Mrs. Florence Schwarze, Miss Ruth Verhulst, Mrs. Fred Clintsman, Mrs. David Rakestraw, Mrs. Viv Carteron, Mrs. Cyril Spangler and Mrs. Henry Keller. The Rev. Ethel Nulton, former pastor here, now residing in Schofield, spoke on “Our Missions and Universities in the Ozarks,” and showed slides.

Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Smith of Fond du lac were guests Saturday at the Ewald Schwarze home. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Schwarze when they attended the celebration of the 40th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John Jakobi at their home Saturday afternoon.

The Oakland Homemakers and a former member, Mrs. John Mickett, were entertained Wednesday evening by Mrs. Charles Gutowski. The evening was spent in social activities. Prizes were awarded. Punch and a buffet lunch were served. The next meeting will be held Wednesday, July 12, at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Ed Pszeniczny. The lesson on “Alcoholism” will be given by Mrs. Joe Strojny.

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Stewart and family of Springfield, Va, are vacationing with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart and other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rhode and sons of River Falls spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Rhode.
