Mr. and Mrs. Gerald J. Schommer whose wedding took place Saturday, July 24, will make their home at 4668A North 126th St., Butler, when they return from a northern Wisconsin honeymoon.
Miss Margarate Ann Beining, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin M. Beining, Marshfield, and Gerald John Schommer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Schommer, Abbotsford, repeated their marriage vows at St. John’s Catholic church, Marshfield. The Rev. Jerome J. Kirsling officiated at the 1:30 o’clock nuptial mass during which the children’s choir sang. White gladioli and yellow carnations with ferns graced the main alter.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a long sleeved floor-length gown of nylon organza over taffeta with a detachable Watteau train. Chantilly lace was used to accent the front of the bodice and down the center of the skirt and on the train which flowed from a large bow at the back of the Sabrina neckline, which was trimmed with pearls and sequins. Her bouffant veil of imported English silk illusion was secured by a floral headpiece trimmed with pearls. She carried an arrangement of three white orchids with stephanotis entwined with ivy.
Attending the couple were Miss Kathleen Herr of Greenwood and James Hallada of Butler, as honor couple, and Mrs. Hallada and William Herr completed the bridal party. Tom Knauf of Marshfield and Dennis Schommer of Abbotsford performed the ushering duties.
The bridal aids were attired alike in gowns of light blue organza over taffeta in empire styling and wore matching headpieces of net and bows. They carried bouquets of white fuji mums and feathered yellow carnations.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Hotel Charles and a buffet supper was served.
Guests attended from Abbotsford, Milwaukee, Butler, New Berlin, Lyndon Station, Wauwatosa, Baraboo, Colby, Stratford, Auburndale, Wausau, Dorchester, Rockford and Chicago, Ill., and Fort Ord, Calif.
In the evening a reception for the new Mr. and Mrs. Schommer was held at Abbotsford at the home of the groom’s parents which was attended by 40 guests.
The groom is a 1960 graduate of the Abbotsford high school and is employed as assistant manager of Thorp Finance Corporation in West Allis.
His wife, a graduate of Columbus high school, Marshfield, in 1963, was a July 2 graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of X-Ray Technology, Marshfield.
