Moberg, Avis (29 June 1968)

Miss Avis Moberg, route 3, Greenwood and Arnold Becker, route 1, Greenwood, exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, June 29, at12:30 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Loyal. The Very Rev. N. E. King officiated.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Elery Moberg, route 3, Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Becker, route 1, Greenwood.

The bride given in marriage by her father was seen in a gown of silk organza over taffeta of A-line style and trimmed with re-embroidered alencon lace accented with sequins and pearls. The gown was designed by the bride. Her train trimmed with lace, swept from the shoulders, also formed an over-skirt. The elbow length veil was secured by a forward crown of lace petals. The bride carried a cascade arrangements of red roses, white mums and ivy.

The matron of honor was her twin sister, Mrs. James(Lois) Becker, Greenwood. Mrs. Donald Halterman, Stanley and Mrs. Elgene Schmidtke, Stratford, were the aides.

The aides were seen in green floor-length gowns of linen accented with a band of yellow and orange flowers and a long green velvet bow at the demi-empire waist lines. Their bouffant veils were secured with matching bows. They each carried bouquets of yellow carnations and orange spatice.

James Becker, Greenwood, was his brother's best man. Jerome Becker, Greenwood and Elgene Schmidtke, Stratford, were the groomsmen. Performing the ushering duties were Charles Klapatauskas, Withee and Donald Becker, Marshfield.

A reception was held at the American Legion in Greenwood followed by a supper at St. Anthony's Hall, Loyal and a dance that evening at the Silver Dome.

The bride is a 1964 graduate of Greenwood High School and is employed at Thorpe Finance, Thorp, in the IBM Dept. The groom is a 1960 graduate of Loyal High School and is employed by Spencer Sports, Spencer.

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin the couple will make their home on route 2, Greenwood.
