Miller, Ernest H. (4 May 1884 - 26 Dec 1919)

Ernest Henry Miller died at his home in Fairchild, Eau Claire Co., Wis. on Friday evening, Dec. 26, 1919, after an illness extending over three years, at the age of 25 years, 7 months and 22 days. The funeral services were held at his late home on Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. F. Hood, under the auspices of the Fairchild Masonic Lodge, of which he was a member. The Modern Woodmen camp, of which he was also a member, attended the services in a body. Many sorrowing friends were also present. The popularity of Mr. Miller in his home city was shown by a large number of beautiful flowers that covered his casket. Burial was in the Fairchild Cemetery.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, his father, James W. Miller, one brother, and two sisters. He was born in Winfield, S. D., but had lived in Fairchild since 1896, where since reaching manhood he was employed in the Big Store and by C. C. Calkins. He was well known to many people in this village (Humbird, Clark County, Wis.), and had visited here many times.

Deceased was a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. John Schmid, Mrs. Henry Hauer, Peter and John Harris, all of whom, with the latter's daughters, Mrs. Robert Buchholz and Mrs. E. J. Garber, attended the funeral.
