Meyer, Bertha J. (Marriage - 8 Dec 1915)

At the Lutheran Church at Alma Center Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 8, 1915, at two o'clock occurred the marriage of Mr. Robert J. Zerbel and Miss Bertha Jennie Meyer. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Yeske of Fairchild. The couple proceeded to the altar, attended by Misses Ida Zerbel and Mabel Hemmy and Messrs. Fred Meyers and George Dunlap, while the wedding march was played by Miss Yeske. Some very fitting remarks, following the wedding ceremony, were offered by the pastor and were greatly appreciated by all the guests. After the congratulations they proceeded to the home of the bride's mother, where a two course supper was served.

The bride was charmingly gowned in white messaline trimmed with lace, and carried white carnations, while the groom wore navy blue. The bridesmaids were both dressed in heliotrope crepe-de-chine and also carried white carnations.

The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Ernestine Meyer of Alma Center, and is a charming young lady, loved by all who know her. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. August Zerbel of Humbird, Clark County, Wis., and is a young man of splendid qualities. They will make their home on the groom's farm a mile and a half south of town.

The out of town guests present at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Zick, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Unke, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Denzer, Mr. Ed Zick of Denzer; Mr. Reinhold Zick and daughter Emma of Watertown, S.D.; Mrs. Christ Joos and family of Pingree, N. D.

The surrounding community all joins in wishing them a happy wedded life.
