Philomene 'Min' Tolford Conway

Philomeme 'Min' Tolford Conway, age 100, died at her home in Thorp, on Friday, Jan 16.

Min Tolford was born in Thorp on Sept. 12, 1903, to Ralph Hebert and Mary (Ripplinger) Tolford. She attended Teachers College in Superior and taught school in Monico, Menasha, and then Thorp, where she met Francis Conway, a young bank examiner from Lyndon Station. They were united in marriage on JUne 22, 1929, and made their home in Thorp, where they had a long, happy, and busy life. She was the heart of their family, and they lvoed her dearly.

She is survived by five daughters, Mary Elizabeth of St. Paul, Minn.; Rosanne Fawcett of Shorewood; Catherine Ellen (Robert X.) Krautkramer, of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; June (the late John W.) Reynolds of Mequon; and Connaught (John) Lindquist of Duluth, Minn.. She is further survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years, Francis; three brothers, Frank, Bud, and Joshua Tolford; and three sisters, Mazie Tolford Wilson, Frances Tolford Glamkowski, and Dorothy Tolford Harycki.

A Memorial Mass was held Wednesday, Jan. 21, at St. Bernard's - St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, in Thorp, with Fr. John Puerner officiating.
