Kammer, William (1855 - 25 NOV 1907)

Last Monday morning death Claimed as his own, William Kammer, Deceased was born in Brandenburg, Germany, 52 years ago, where his mother is living at the age of 83 years. He has a brother in Germany 57 years of age. His father died 24 years ago. William came to America in 1882 and settle at Spencer, Wis. where he has since resided. At the time of his death he lived on his farm about one and one-half miles from Spencer on the Marshfield road. He leaves his widow and eight children, six daughters and two sons. All the children are home except Martha, the eldest who is the wife of William Klein of Loyal, Clark County, Wis. William Kammer was one of the few men of whom it May be said, he had no enemies. All who knew him loved him as a neighbor and a friend. He was highly respected by all and he has left a void in the hearts not only of his own family, of which any man might be proud, but in the vicinity in which he lived. Always a hard worker and he always had a cheery word for all and a crust to spare to the needy. It is such lives as his that makes the world a better and life worth living. The whole community joins in condolence with the bereaved family. Services from the Lutheran Church, of which he was a leading member, Thursday afternoon and burial in the Cemetery in the town of Brighton, Rev. Dunn officiating. Deceased served 3 years in the German Army and was a member of the Deutscher Kreiger Verein.
