Hi all:

This is just an issue of personal interest, and not really a matter of genealogy. My father, Herb Kippenhan (he grew up in Mead Township, Clark Co., Wis.), served aboard the U.S.S. North Carolina (BB-55) from Feb., 1942 until May, 1945.

So Ervin & my father were shipmates. In a crew of 2,200 (or so) men, it's unlikely the two men ever knew each other.

If anyone in Ervin's family happens to read this, I'd be interested in exploring this topic.

Best regards - H.A. Kippenhan, Jr. -
