Hodd, Elizabeth (28 Sep 1883 - 7 May 1948)

Final rites were conducted Tuesday, May 11th, for Mrs. Elizabeth Hodd, from the Methodist Episcopal Church at Withee, Clark County, Wis., who passed away Friday, May 7, 1948.

Rev. James Irish of Thorp officiated at the service. Burial was made in the City Cemetery at Stanley, where she was laid alongside her brother, Sim J. Taylor. During the service a vocal selection was sung by Opal Poppe. Pallbearers were Glen Buchanan, Reuben Peper, Morris Mirlund, George Kaduce, Howard Grandy and Lloyd Starr.

Flower girls were: Mrs. Reuben Pieper, June Johnson, Opal Poppe, Mabel Whittemore and Beverly Poppe.

The deceased was born at Sparta, Wis. on Sept. 28, 1883. She was 65 years of age at the time of her death at the home of a daughter Ethel who resides north of Owen, where she had made her home for the past five years. She lived an active and enjoyable life and was the mother of nine children: four daughters, mrs. Etta Johnson and Mrs. Ethel Johnson, Owen, Mrs. Dorothy Bogue of Walseka, Ill., and Mrs. Myrtle Johnson of Colby; five sons, Robert and Floyd of Curtiss, Roy of Hayward, Fred of Clinton, Wis., and Ervine of Loyal, and 27 grandchildren, all of whom survive her passing.
