Beilfuss, Albert J. (16 Augl 1857 - 11 NOV 1948)

Albert J. Beilfuss, a resident of the Village of Withee, Clark County, Wis. for nearly 40 years passed away a week ago today at two o'clock at St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield, where he had been admitted two days previous for treatment for a heart ailment.

Funeral services were conducted at two o'clock, Saturday afternoon, Nov. 13, 1948, from the Griebenow Funeral Home, Owen, with the Rev. Walter Schedler of Withee officiating. Burial was made in the Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers at the service were: Herman Bartholomay, Allen Billington, Minius Munson, Sabin Scherf, Fred Scherf and Harry Thorson.

Flower girls were: Mrs. Edgar Alberts, Mrs. Clinton Alberts, Mrs. James Christensen, Mrs. Myron Fritsch, Mrs. Minius Munson and Miss Natalie Scherf.

Albert J. Beilfuss was born on Aug. 16, 1857, in Germany. As a young man of 12 years of age he came to America with his parents, settling in Michigan. On Oct. 19, 1877 he was united in marriage to Adelgunde Stoever, at Kiel, Wis. This union was blessed with three sons, Walter of Neillsville, Arthur of Milwaukee and Carl of With, with whom he has made his home for the past 18 years since his retirement as a lumber grader.

His wife preceded him in death, having passed away on Oct. 26, 1922.

Five years after his marriage he and his family moved to Thorp, Clark County, where he was associated with the lumbering business for 40 years before moving to this community, making it his home for the past 39 years.

Surviving him besides his three sons are five grandchildren, Mrs. C. Betchel of Delafield, Mrs. G. Kessler, of Madison, Miss Bonnie Beilfuss of Chicago and grandsons, Bruce of Neillsville and Bert of Withee in addition to his many friends of the community, with whom he had been able to enjoy daily companionship with up until a few days before his death.

Relatives that attended the funeral services were: Arthur Beilfuss of Milwaukee, Mrs. Orivlla Kessler of Madison, Walter Beilfuss and son Bruce of Neillsville and Miss Bonnie Beilfuss of Chicago.
