Julius Voigt, who died at his home in the Town of York, December 9, 1923, was born in Germany December 6, 1849, and was 74 years and 3 days old at the time of his death. He came to America at the age of 24 years and settled at Fall Creek, where he lived for a short time and was there married. To this union two children were born, a son who died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Fred Schilling of Fall Creek. On March 15, 1886 he was married to Miss Caroline Nitschke and they went to Dodge County to live, remaining there 5 years, then moving to Clark County, which was his home until his death. To his second marriage 6 children were born, 3 of whom died in infancy. Mr. Voigt was an industrious and reliable man and was highly esteemed by all who know him. He is survived by his wife and four children: Mrs. Fred Schilling of Fall Creek; Mrs. Martin Dankemeyer of Chili; Edward Voigt of the Town of York and Reinhold Voigt on the home place. He leaves also two brothers, one sister, and ten grandchildren. The funeral was held Wednesday, December 12, at York Center Church, Rev. Wilson Mallory of Granton officiating.
