Sevices were held today at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, for Clayton G. Turner, 80, Neillsville, who died Tuesday at Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. The Rev. Mark Voll officiated. Dean Spangler was the organist. Burial was in the York Center Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald, Larry, Tyrone, and Rodney Turner, Milton Schoenfeld, and Charles Fruit. He was born July 12, 1906, in the Town of York to Abie and Hattie Turner and received his education there. He worked as a carpenter in the Neillsville area until entering the Army on August 24, 1942. After serving in the Pacific, he was discharged on November 27, 1944 and returned to this area where he did carpenter work until 1951. He married Olga L. Wittke April 12, 1947, at Granton. She survives. They moved to Kirkland, Illinois, where he worked as a carpenter. He later returned to Neillsville and retired in 1977. Surviving besides his wife, are two sisters, Mabel Schoenfeld and Harriet Triska, both of Neillsville; and four brothers, George and Orville, both of Neillsville; Victor, Wisconsin Rapids, and Wilbur, Kirkland, Illinois. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers.
