Burton H. Lawrence, 85, died at the local hospital on Saturday morning at 9:05. Funeral services were conducted at the Georgas funeral home at 1:30 and at York Center Methodist church at two o'clock on Tuesday. Burial wa made in the York Center cemetery, with Rev. Banks Blocher officiating. Mr. Lawrence was born in Sheboygan County on January 28, 1865. He came to Clark County with his parents at the age of eight years. They located on a farm in the town of York. He received his education in the schools of Sheboygan and Clark counties. In his earlier years he worked on the railroad and farmed. He has lived in the city the past five years. In July, 1902, he was married to Olive Rogers in the town of York. He is survived by three children, Irving of the state of Washington, Mrs. V. (Carrie) Martin of Moalls, Ore., and Harold of Michigan; three stepchildren, Ernest Rogers, Gertrude and Elsie; one brother, Melvin Lawrence of Platteville. Two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Vandeberg and Mrs. Ida Turner, one brother, George, one half-brother and sisters, William Lawrence, Mrs. Lois Vandeberg, Mrs. Olive Campbell, Mrs. Ethel Wiggins, and Carrie, all preceded him in death.
