WILLIAM ARNDT LAID TO REST WEDNESDAY

A sudden death came to William Fred Arndt, 76 years and 4 days of age, at his farm home north of the city Sunday morning when he was stricken with a heart attack. As he was doing chores he felt weak and went into the house where death came to him shortly.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 28, at two o'clock from the Griebenow Funeral parlors. Interment was made in the Riverside cemetery.

William Fred Arndt was born in Germany on August 21, 1864. When but a child of three years he came to this country with his parents and spent his early manhood on a farm near Glencoe, Ill., where his folks had settled.

On November 28, 1894, he was united in marriage to Mable C. Hastings of Silver City, Ia. This couple were the parents of seven children, six sons and one daughter. In January 1910, he was united in marriage to Alvina Sachse to whom a son and daughter were born.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and an infant son of his first marriage.

His second wife and sons, Albert of Darien, and George, Wesley and Louie of Janesville, and Frank of Owen, daughter, Ruth, Mrs. Sam Evans of Palatine, Ill., and daughter, Ruby, and son, Alfred, at home, survive his passing.
