J. GRANDY DIES FROM INJURIES INFLICTED BY BULL

Been Resident of Town of Maplehurst for Past 28 years.

The death of James Ethen Grandy, 59, at his farm six miles north of Withee Sunday morning resulted from chest injuries sustained when he was pinned against the wall of his barn by a bull which he was taking care of. After freeing himself from the animal he made his way to the house where he passed away shortly afterwards.

James Ethen Grandy was born at Ludington, Eau Claire County, on Oct. 6, 1881. His early life was spent in the vicinity of Cadott where he was employed until August 20, 1912, when he came to Withee and was married to Miss Emma Dresdow. Since that time he had made his home on a farm north of Withee.

He was the father of two sons, Howard Garfield, 24, and Ray Carl, 14. He leaves to mourn his tragic death besides his family, his mother and two brothers, Louie and Leonard, of Milwaukee and his many friends.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 11, from the Griebenow funeral parlors, the Rev. W. P. D. Powe officiating.
