William Englebretson OWEN- William James Englebretson, age 80, of Owen, passed away Friday January 4, 2002, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood with Pastor Terri Blomberg officiating. Internment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery with honor guard service provided by the Wallis-Hinker American Legion Post 238.

The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is serving the family.

He was born November 5, 1921, in Clark County to James and Eva (nee Eggett) Englebretson. He has been a farmer in the Owen area since 1946. William served in the army during World War II in the Company C 357th AAA Battalion.

He is survived by two sons, Gary (Bonnie) Englebretson of Greenwood and Bruce (Shirley) Englebretson of Owen; two daughters, Nancy (John) Siggelkow of West Virginia and Nancy (Harold) Jones of Tennessee; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister Annabel Cheney of Arizona; brother Bob Englebretson of Eau Claire; two half-sisters, Faye Lang and Pat Van Aernum; half-brother Jimmie Englebretson; two step-sisters and one step-brother.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Bostwick Englebretson; a son, Ronald William Englebretson; brother, Clayton Englebretson; and three step-brothers.
