Carl E. Aberle

Carl E. Aberle, age 93, died Sunday, Nov. 16, at Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville.

Carl was born July 20, 1910, in Stejerlak, Annina, Austria-Hungary to Herman and Marie (Graf) Aberle. He came to America with his parents on the ship Brandenberg and arrived in New York on Dec. 26, 1910. He became an American citizen on Aug. 4, 1917.

As a young boy he lived in Chicago, Ill. Then the family moved to Wisconsin. Carl attended Worchel Grade School. He loved baseball and watching TV. He spent two years in the Civilian Conservation Corps Camp at Perkinstown. Carl worked for George Biechler and for the Hixton Egg Co. He began working for Alvin and Ethel Schutte on their mink ranch in 1940 and continued to live and work with the Schutte family until entering Memorial Home three years ago.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Herman, Alfred, Arthur, and Emil.

Carl is survived by two sisters: Marie Cernik and Elsie Lockman, both of Eugene, Ore.

Rev. Timothy Biebert conducted a Mourner's Service at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville. Alvin Schutte's great-grandchildren served as pallbearers. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation was held Wednesday from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
