L. J. Rossman is about as happy a man as can be found in Wisconsin. Last week, his wife, knowing his fondness for the girls, presented him with a little girl baby weighing 10 pounds and Louis would not part with it for a kingdom.

Mr. George Eldrich, who lived near the railroad, about five or six miles west of Neillsville, died on Sunday last, and was buried on Monday. He had been ill with consumption for a long time. He left a wife, a daughter of Mr. Winters, and five or six children.

Mrs. F. W. Whitcomb and children went to Eau Claire, last Monday, for a week's visit. Fred takes his feed at the Merchants while his wife is away. Fred says no one must trust his wife, because she has left his bed and board without any provocation except a disire to go a visiting.

Charge Fargo, of this city, an old soldier, and well known by all our people, died last Tuesday of pneumonia, after an illness of one week. He had been trying a long time to get a pension, and had just succeeded in finding his Captain, whose affidavit alone was needed to finish his case, and it is probable the claim would have been allowed within a week. But he has passed away, and whether his widow will be able to secure it remains to be seen.

F. W. Whitcomb (Frederick William) is my great grandfather Francis (Frank) Whitcomb's brother. Mrs. F. W. is Eleanor (Ella) Morris, his 2nd wife; first Marian (Mary Ann ) Frank died in Humbird, Wisconsin in 1881. They were railroad people. I do enjoy these aticles.
