Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Brehm, who lived here (Colby, Wis.) in the pioneer days, recently celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary which the Sheboygan Press reports as follows:

The fiftieth or golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Brehm, 2314 South Seventh St., though long time residents of this county, was appropriately observed Friday evening at the Association of Commerce, when members of the immediate family arranged a delightful banquet.

Twenty-five guests, including the six children of the honored couple and their families attended the dinner. The color scheme of the decorations was carried out in deep yellow and gold. Lovely seasonal flowers also were in evidence. During the day and evening, Mr. and Mrs. Brehm received many congratulations. They were the recipients of several gifts of gold.

Those present at the celebration were: Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Brehm of Colby: Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Brehm, Colby: Mr. and Mrs. Otto Meves and sons, Wallace, Melvin and Donald of this city; Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Kelly of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Huber and daughter, Lillian of Colby; Jess Brehm of Portland, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Peter De Witt, son Allen and daughter Doris of the town of Wilson; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Brehm and daughter, Carol and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Brehm of Sheboygan on Route 4 and G. V. McLellan of this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Brehm were united in marriage in this city on Sept. 6, 1879, by the late W. M. Root, Justice of the Peace. Mrs. Brehm was born here and her husband in the town of Wilson. Following their marriage the couple moved to Marathon Co., after which they returned to this county, where they operated a farm in the town of Wilson. They lived in that township until fifteen years ago, when they retired. For the past ten years, Mr. and Mrs. Brehm have been residing in this city. They have six children, all of who attended the celebration. They are Alvin Brehm, Colby, Wis.; Mrs. Otto H. Meves, this city; Mrs. Henry Huber, Colby; Jess Brehm, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Peter De Witt of Sheboygan on route 4 and Victor Brehm, Sheboygan on Route 5.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Brehm are very active and in good health. The former spends much of his time working in the garden of his home. Mrs. Brehm does all of her housework.
