John Walter Miller

John (Bucky) Walter Miller, 63, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003 at the emergency room of Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 9, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Spencer.

John Walter Miller was born Feb. 1, 1940, in Marshfield, to John and Lena Miller. He attended a rural school in the Town of Sherman and graduated from Marshfield High School in 1958. He was employed at Leath Furniture and Roddis before starting to farm south of Spencer. He married Donna Frankwick in 1962. They later divorced. He later married Patricia Gallion on Feb. 27, 1976. He had farmed on his own farm west of Spencer since 1963. His interests included hunting, spending time with his sons, grandchildren, and many friends. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Spencer and had served on the board of the Spencer Cooperative.

Survivors include his wife, Pat; his sons, Jim (Debbie Kunze) Miller, Spencer, and Scott (Tammi) Miller, Spencer; his daughter (Penny (Pat) Lekie, Chaska, Minn.; four stepsons, David (Karen) Gallion, Spencer, Steven Gallion, Hollister, Calif., Terry (Cheryl) Gallion, Spencer, and Timothy (Wendy) Gallion, Milwaukee; his grandchildren, Jordan Miller, Justin Miller, Jenny Kunze, Jamie Kunze, Jacob Miller, Faith Miller, Bryanna Hoeper, Gage Lekie, Shandi Leike, Samantha Gallion, Hayley Gallion, Tanya Gallion, Kay Gallion, and Brittany Gallion; his mother, Lena Miller, Marshfield; one brother, Jerry Miller, Marshfield; two sisters, Cheryl (Tim) Hughes, Marshfield, and Louise Miller, Milwaukee; and his father and mother-in-law, Jess and Gail Tomlinson, Manly, Iowa.

Preceding him in death were his father, John Miller, Sr., and one brother, Richard Miller.

Community Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family with arrangements.
