Scheel, Otto E. (24 JUN 1884 - 5 Dec 1929)

Otto Edward Scheel, whose death was chronicled in this paper last week, was born in the town of Loyal, Clark County, Wis. on June 24, 1884, where he spent his early life. On Dec. 21, 1920, he was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Miss Katherine Vogel. They lived in the town of Loyal until 1916, when they moved onto a farm near Colby, where they have lived ever since. To this union two children were born, Linda and Gerhardt. The deceased had been in poor health for about five months, and on Dec. 2, 1929, he went to Davenport, Iowa, to be treated for a nervous breakdown at a sanatorium, where he passed away Dec. 5, 1929, at the age of forty-five years, five months and eleven days. Funeral services were held at the Woodman Hall at Loyal, Wis., Wednesday, Dec. 11th, Rev. Peckeren of Wausau, Wis., officiating, and interment was made in the Union Cemetery at Loyal.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, one son, one daughter, His mother, Mrs. Sophia Scheel of Loyal, Wis., two sisters, Mrs. Emma Haslow of Spencer and Mrs. Ella Komis of Beaver Dam, three brothers, Wm. of Unity, Ralph of Beaver and Robert of York. His father, three sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

The deceased was a prominent raiser of Dutch Belted cattle and of Hampshire hogs. He was a kind and loving husband and father, an industrious farmer and had a large number of friends who extend the sympathy to the mourners.
