(Marriage - 24 May 1927) A very pretty
wedding was solemnized Tuesday morning, May 24, 1927, at 8:30, at
St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rev. Lachnit officiating, when Miss
Ramonia Henrietta Eder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. Eder,
became the bride of Mr. Alphonse Gries, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter
A. Gries, Sr. Miss Genevieve Eder, sister of the bride, acted as
bridesmaid and the groom was attended by Mr. Raymond Gries, nephew
of the groom. Marjorie Gries, niece of the groom, and Paul Holton,
nephew of the bride, were flower bearers. The bride wore a
beautiful dress of ivory white flat crepe with piture hat and
carried a bouquet of pink sweet pears. The bridesmaid wore a dress
of salmon pink georgette crepe and carried a bouquet of pink and
white carnations. Immediately after
the marriage ceremony, the bridal party motored to the Lukowicz
studio, where they had their picture taken and then repaired to the
home of the bride's parents, where a lovely wedding breakfast was
served to a few immediate relatives and friends. The home was
beautifully decorated with pink and white crepe paper and the table
with carnations. In the evening, a free wedding dance was given at
Wiedenhoeft's park, which was largely attended. The newlyweds
motored to points in the southern part of the state, on a wedding
trip, and will be at home about June 1st, at Colby, Wis. The out of town
guests here for the wedding were Mrs. Earl J. Dalten and son, Paul,
and Miss Vivian T. Eder, sisters of the bride, both of Madison,
Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rouse of Abbotsford, Mr. Ben Edelbach
of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Hugh Carberry and son, Robert and
Bernard of Lodi, Wis. Both the bride and
groom have many friends in Colby and vicinity who extend
congratulations. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
