Crakow, Christine (4 Augl 1849 - 30 Mar 1925)

Mrs. Fred Crakow passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Minnie Patitz after an illness of a year, the last three months, of which she had been confined to her bed. Death was caused by cancer.

Christine Kare was born in Niemarch, Germany Aug. 4, 1849 and passed away March 30, 1925 at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 26 days. She was married to Fred Crakow in 1872 and to this union one daughter was born. In 1883 Mr. and Mrs. Crakow and daughter came to the United States, living at Arlington Heights for about years. They moved to a farm near Curtiss, Clark County, Wis., and made their home there for many years. Mrs. Crakow was preceded to the grave by her husband, who passed away about five years ago. She has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Minnie Patitz for some time and has many friends in this village and at Curtiss, who sincerely mourn her loss. She had been a member of the Lutheran Church since girlhood and was a woman of strong Christian character and a patient, loving wife and mother. To those near and dear to her we offer our most heartfelt sympathy at their loss. She leaves to mourn her departure one daughter, Mrs. Minnie Patitz of this village, two grandchildren, Mrs. C. Zoch of Stevens Point and Walter Patitz of Marquette University, Milwaukee, one great-grandchild, Charles Henry Zoch of Stevens Point, one brother, Godfrey Kare of Boston and three sisters in Germany.

Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, rev. Von Busch officiating.

Misses Merrill, Mrs. Premo, M. Jenks and J. M. Olson rendered the comforting and beautiful musical selections.

Interment took place in the Colby Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zoch and baby son of Stevens Point and a number of friends from surrounding communities were here to attend the funeral.

The Tribune and friends offer sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
