A lively sensation was created at the Windfall on Wednesday of last week by the elopement of Archie Hoover with Mrs. John Sweet. The morning of the flight Hoover employed the husband of the woman who accompanied him in his fight to chop for him, and having got him out of the way, hitched up his team and drove to Sweet’s house, when Mrs. Sweet, having sent her children to school, went with him to Spencer, where they took the train and left for parts unknown. So far no effort to find them has been made by any of the parties interested. Hoover leaves a wife, Mrs. Sweet had two children, both of which she deserted, leaving a note to her husband stating that she left the children with him for the reason that she knew he would take better care of them than she would, which, from her conduct, it is not difficult to believe.
