Dhein, Hildegarde (Marriage - 24 JUN 1919)

What more appropriate time could there be for the union of hearts than June, the month of weddings.

St. Mary's Catholic Church was handsomely decorated Tuesday morning, June 24th, in honor of the wedding which took place at 9 o'clock when Miss Hildegarde Dhein was united in marriage to Mr. Charles Abb.

Promptly at the appointed hour the bridal party entered the church to the stains of a wedding march played by Miss Rose Mick.

Immediately in front of the bride was the maid of honor, Miss Lillian Dhein, of Stevens Point carrying a basket of sweet peas. The bride followed by her father, dressed in full bridal satin trimmed with chantilla lace hand embroidered, and carried a large bouquet of lilies of the valley and orchids. They in turn were followed by the Misses Carolyn Maurer of Stevens Point, Louette O'Connor, also of Stevens Point, as bridesmaids and Mr. Hugo Dhein and Otto Runte of Kaukauna as groomsmen. Upon reaching the communion railing the party was met by the groom and his attendant Mr. Albert Kopps of Wausau, the groom stepping to the front of the rostrum and assisted his bride to the center of the altar, and the solemn marriage ceremony that made Mr. and Mrs. Charles Abb husband and wife was pronounced by Fr. H. Lachnitt. The procession was then led by the young married couple and those having cards, "Reception at twelve o'clock at home" repaired to the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dhein, where the wedding dinner was served.

The home was beautifully decorated with peonies, roses and orange blossoms. The dining room was decorated in green and white and the color was carried out in the refreshments.

The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Abb of Stevens Point and holds a position as postal clerk in the post office of that city. The bride has the past several years been employed as bookkeeper for the Mutual Hardware Insurance Co. at Stevens Point and has won for herself an enviable reputation as a competent and trusted worker.

The newly wedded couple left the same evening on an extended wedding trip to Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, St. Paul and Minneapolis, and intend spending a week at Arbor Vitae. They will be at home to their many friends after July 15th at Stevens Point.

Guests from out of town attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Abb, Mr. and Mrs. Herbie Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Moen, Miss Lillian Dhein, Mrs. Ralph Ritchay, Mr. C. M. Kanute, Miss Evelyn Glinski, Mr. Walter Worzalla, Miss Carolyn Maurer, Miss Loretta O'Connor, all of Stevens Point, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Abb and children of Janesville, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Koppa, Wausau, Messrs. Matthew and Len Hauch, Cleveland, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Silbernagel and children, Elkhart, Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Runte, and Otto, Carl and Cordell Runte, Kaukauna, Wm. Dhein, Kiel, Lillian Fox and Mr. and Mrs. A. Will and son, Mellen.
