Thorn, Rose M. (Marriage - 18 JUN 1918)

One of the most brilliant nuptial events of the season was the marriage of Miss Rose Mary Thorn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Thorn, Sr., of this city (Colby, Wis.), and John Nick Brill, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Brill, of the town of Hull, which was solemnized at St. Mary's catholic Church at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, Rev. Henry Lachnit officiating.

The bride wore a white silk crepe de chine gown with chiffon overdrape, trimmed with pearls and beads. She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Herman Glass of Milwaukee, who wore a blue silk crepe de chine with shadow overlace. The groom was attended by the bride's brother-in-law, Mr. Herman Glass of Milwaukee. Miss Estella thorn of Appleton and Master Herman Thorn of Colby served as flower girl and ring bearer respectively.

Many relatives from other localities were guests at the magnificent festival held at the home of the bride's parents following the ceremony, where a most delicious dinner and luncheon were served later in the day. In the evening a wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft Park, which was fully enjoyed by a large number of invited guests.

The newly married couple are leaving today (Thursday) for an extended wedding tour, after which they will be at home after July 4th at the groom's farm in the town of Hull.
