Hazeltine, Hattie J. (19 Dec 1857 - 9 Jan 1915)

Mrs. G. S. Hazeltine, a well known woman of our vicinity (Clark County, Wis.), answered the death call last Saturday, Jan. 9, 1915, at her home in the town of Sherman, at the age of fifty-seven years and twenty days, the cause of her death was paralysis.

Deceased was born in Wisconsin and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otis E. Reed. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and several sons and daughters, the names of who we were unable to obtain.

She possessed a happy, contented disposition, and had a pleasant greeting for everyone who she met in the daily walks of life. In her death the family has lost a kind and loving mother and the community a woman who will always be remembered in doing that which she thought was right. The family has the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.

The funeral was held yesterday morning at 10 o'clock from the home and the remains were laid to rest in the Loyal Cemetery, Rev. W. P. Powell officiating.

Died, at her home in the town of Sherman on Saturday, Jan. 19, 1915, Mrs. Hattie G. Hazeltine at the age of sixty-seven years and 21 days. The deceased was born in Lowell, Wis. on Dec. 19, 1847.

In the year of 1866 she was united in marriage to G. S. Hazeltine, they moved to Clark County, Wis. in the year 1880 and settled on a farm three miles east of Loyal, where she lived until her death. All the care and attentions that skilled physicians and an anxious household could devise and bring into assistance was done, but the will of him who rules incomings and outgoings had been issued and after a struggle of a few days, despite the prayers of her loved ones, the sufferers spirit took its flight to the home of Eternal rest. She was of an affectionate disposition, always bearing cheerfully all her grief and pain. She was a noble true Christian and a most devoted mother and wife. Life will never be the same to those nearest to her, the unutterable longing can never be satisfied. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband and five children, Miss Wellie Hazeltine, Mrs. Fred Haupt, Mrs. O. V. Catlin, Mr. A. J. Hazeltine and Mr. M. R. Hazeltine, all of Clark County, Wis.

The services were conducted at the house on Wednesday the 13th at 10 o'clock a.m., and the remains laid to rest in the Loyal Cemetery.
