Roberts, Cynthia (18 NOV 1850 - 2 SEP 1908)

Died, at her home in the town of Unity, Clark County, Wis., Wednesday Sept. 2, 1908, at seven o'clock p.m., Mrs. Cynthia Roberts, age fifty-seven years, nine months and fourteen days.

Miss Cynthia Nichols was born Nov. 18, 1850, in Cattaraugus, Co., N.Y., where she resided until the age of seven years, when her parents came to Wisconsin and settled near Sparta in Monroe Co. They resided there until about the year of 1869 or 1870, when they moved to Clark County, Wis. and located in the town of Sherman, then known as town No. 26, range 1 east, and in the years of 1872 she was united in marriage to George Roberts, and of this union their were seven children born, five of who are now living to mourn the loss of a mother, William of North Dakota; Fredrick of Minnesota; Charley E., a soldier in the regular army now located in the Philippine Islands; Levi and Dolly of Unity. Mrs. Roberts was in almost constant pain from the time she was taken sick until her death and never a murmur did any one hear. The funeral services were held at the house Friday, Sept. 4th at one o'clock, conducted by Rev. Christianson of Spencer and the remains were laid to rest in the Spencer Cemetery by the side of two children that had been called before.

Levi and Dolly Roberts wish to thank their friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted them during the sickness and death of their mother and also for the flowers that were strewn upon the casket.
