100 Years Ago 08 Nov 1902 R. R. Urquhart has retired from the Ideal Restaurant and Bakery and will seek a new location.

A recent analysis of an ore sample from the iron mine of Stanley Mining Co., made by H. E. Erickson, showed 65 to 75 percent in iron. - - - - - - 70 Years Ago 04 Nov 1932 The new food store of Andrew Korn and Sons opens tomorrow in the Grubb building formerly occupied by the post office.

Many farmers have been using a mixture of half gasoline and half distillate this summer, home-mixed, in their tractors, pump engines and cars. It proves that there is always a way to bet the game or excessive prices and taxes. Some used this during last winter and report fair results. - - - - - 60 Years Ago 06 Nov 1942 At the city council meeting Wednesday night Fred Korn resigned as justice of the peace and police justice Stanley McFarlane was appointed to fill the vacancy. - - - - - -- 40 Years Ago 08 Nov 1962 John Frinak, Jr., became Stanley's newest Eagle Scout in a ceremony held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. 25 Years Ago 03 Nov 1977 Named to the West Cloverbelt All-Conference football team are Jeff Erickson, Brad Eslinger, Jeff Koepke, Greg Mitchell, Bob Schneider, Jim Simon, Mike Smoczyk and Tim Troyer.
