Alvin Reineke

Alvin Henry Reineke, age 85, of Eau Claire, WI passed away Friday, October 26, 2001 at The Clairemont Nursing Home, Eau Claire.

He was born June 5, 1916, in Livingston, WI to Emil and Lisette (Thoenes) Reineke. He attended Butler School and Hobart Welding School in Madison, WI. He married Evelyn Morrison in Thorp, WI, in April of 1936. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Eau Claire for 45 years, and served as trustee and Sunday School teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers; several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn, daughter Eileen (Lauren) Books of Eau Claire; son Emil (Lynette) of the Town of Butler, rural Thorp; grandchildren: Steven (Diane), Tom (Jill) and Lisa Books. Erich and Ethan Reineke and Sarah (Travis) Rowen; great grandchildren: Kendra, Logan and Hunter Books; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alvin was a hard-working man who dearly loved his family and the out-of-doors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In retirement he and Evelyn traveled in their RV throughout the United States including Alaska. Alvin grew to adulthood in a family of 11 siblings and always looked forward to family gatherings. He will be deeply missed.

A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2001, at First Baptist church, Eau Claire, with Reverend Richard Goins officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Town of Butler Cemetery, Clark County. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Boy Scouts of America.
