Waterbury, Sarah (9 JUN 1828 - 5 JUN 1907)

Mrs. Sarah Waterbury, an old resident of Clark County, Wis., died at her home in this village on Wednesday, June 5, 1907, after an illness of several months of catarrh of the stomach.

The deceased was born in New York on June 9, 1828, and moved to Farmington, Wis., with her parents in Oct. 1845, and was there united in marriage to Mr. Nelson Waterbury on Nov. 25, 1849. In March 1874 they moved on a farm near this village and from there to this village in 1903, where she resided to the time of her death.

None ever entered her home without a warm welcome nor left without feeling the warmth of genuine hospitality, so characteristic of the people of her ancestry. Disease did not destroy the charm of a kind indulgent disposition, nor old age diminish her unselfish solicitude for her friends and loved ones. Our little village and its hospital people ever held a warm corner in her heart. It was in this vicinity the best days of her life were spent and when her last days came and the God of Eternity called her to everlasting rest, it was her desire that she be laid to rest beside her husband who died but a few months ago.

She is survived by five children, three sons and two daughters, who are William Waterbury of Millett, S.D., aged 56 years, Freeman Waterbury of Encampment, Wyo., aged 49 years, Eugene Waterbury, South Dakota, aged 47 years, Mrs. Utheda Lyons of the town of Loyal, aged 39 years, Mrs. Lina Van Camp of Park Falls, Wis., aged 37 years.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock at the M. E. Church and the remains interred in that cemetery.
