NOT THE END OT THE LINE

Although it May be the end of the line for Toxedo Junction, that certainly isn't going to be the case for its proprietor, Ann Huls. Ann has numerous plans that will keep her busy for a long time. Ann took over Thorp's tuxedo bussiness about five years ago when her daughter Maria moved to Wausau.

In addition to tuxedo rental, Ann's shop has sold a variety of crafts and homemade baked goods. Ann also sews and does clothing alterations, and this is only one of her part-time jobs! One of the reasons Ann decided to close her shop is that it ties her up so much and prevents her from doing some fo the other activities she so enjoys. She has been committed to being a responsible business person and, "I never liked to be closed during hours when I say I'm going to be open."

Ann will miss serving the many people whom she has met over the years, both as customers and consigners. One of her favorite responsibilities at the shop has been her tuxedo rental to the high school boys who come in for prom. Says Ann,"For many of thes boys, this is the first time they have ever been so dressed up. Seeing the pride on their faces for how good they look is a real joy."

Though Ann will not be seeing her customers in the same capacity anymore, she'll still be around Thorp, doing many of the same things we're all used to. She'll stay on at Mathison Realty in the morning and continue to take in alterations. Her family has been encouraging her to visit, and now she'll have the flexibility to do so. Ann thanks all those who helped make her business such a pleasant experience. Most of all, She "thanks the Good Lord for giving her the strength and where-with-all to do what (she does) every day."
