Hantke, Hazel M. (11 Dec 1896 - 20 May 2003)

SUN CITY, Ariz. - Hazel M. Hantke, 106, of Sun City, formerly of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at the Evergreen Care Center in Sun City.

Services were held Friday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Gesche Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Hazel was born in Neillsville on Dec. 11, 1896, the daughter of George and Mary (Leopold) Schultz. In her early years, she lived on her parents' farm near the Black River. She was united in marriage to Anthony J. Hantke on Sept. 10, 1924. He died on Sept. 19, 1982.

The couple lived in Neillsville for many years. Hazel was a homemaker during World War II, was employed as a clerk and worked most local elections in various capacities.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Neillsville and attended the Youngtown United Methodist Church after moving to Arizona in 1994.

She is survived by one son, Bud (Opal) Hantke, of Sun City; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
