David, Elaine (22 JUN 1918 - 13 May 2003)

NEKOOSA - Elaine David, 84, of 1699 County Road GG, Nekoosa, died May 13, 2003, at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. The Rev. James Buckman will officiate.

Elaine was born June 22, 1918, in Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. to Archie and Ida (Gluch) Howard. She was first married to Harrison Meade, which ended in divorce. She was united in marriage to Anton David Sr. on April 26, 1941, in Milwaukee. He died April 17, 1989.

Elaine was employed at Edgewater Haven, Holmes Café and various other jobs. She enjoyed hunting, gardening and her large family. She especially enjoyed going to Rainbow Casino.

Survivors include nine children, Elaine (Ed) Douglas, Waukesha; Laverne (Dorothy) David, Ladysmith; Betty (Melvin) Heintz, Marshfield; Dorothy (George) Van Ert, Wisconsin Rapids; Vernell (Vernon) Roberts, Merlin (DeAnn) David and Karen (Jim) Cumberland, all of Nekoosa; Anton David Jr., New Caney, Texas, and Bonnie (Pat) Kopelke, also of Nekoosa; 44 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Adeline Morrison, Granton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers (Clarion and Merton Howard), two sisters (Marion Hiles and her twin Lorraine Meyers), three grandchildren and one son-in-law (Walter Murray).
