Aucutt, Beth (Marriage - 14 Feb 1918)

A pretty home wedding was solemnized in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry D. Aucutt, at 5:30 o'clock on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 14, 1918. The contracting parties were Miss Beth Aucutt and Mr. Joseph Schmittfranz, Rev. J. B. Bachman, aged ninety years, a nearby neighbor for many years, was the officiating clergyman who tied the nuptial knot, pronouncing the ceremony which united the lives of these estimable young people. The wedding was a quiet one, witnessed by immediate relatives. The bride was becomingly attired in a gown of crepe de chene, and with a bouquet of pale pink roses, looked the very queen that her life characterizes her to be. The groom wore the conventional black. The bride was attended by her twin sister, Miss Murl Aucutt, and Thomas Aucutt, brother of the bride, was best man. After the ceremony and congratulations a sumptuous dinner was served and a most pleasant evening was passed in a social manner. On Friday the newly wedded pair departed for Menomonie, and they will also visit Minneapolis and Chelsea, the home of the groom's parents, before departing for their new home prepared by the groom at Highland, Iowa Co., Wis., where he has charge of a cheese factory. The best wishes of all follow them for many years of success and happiness.
