Schmidt, Willamina (23 Nov 1881 - 26 Mar 1908)

Mrs. George Schmidt died at her home in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Thursday March 26, 1908, shortly after giving birth to a boy, the new born being in fine condition, the mother succumbing to exhaustion as a result. Willamina Louise Amelia Buss was born at Ecorse, Mich., Nov. 23, 1881, and came here with her parents eighteen years ago. On Jun 2, 1904, she was united in marriage with George Schmidt, who, together with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Buss, of the town of Reseburg, and brothers, Herman, Charley, Henry and Albert, of this place, and Wm. Buss Jr. of St. Paul, and sisters, Mrs. John Wilcox of Crandon, Wis., Mrs. Joseph Ziehr of Cadott, and Mrs. Charles Schmidt of this place, are left to mourn her untimely death. To her the struggle and burden bearing of earth was brief, and we confidentially trust that like one who awakes from a troubled dream she has awakened to see life's endless morning brak and knows herself at home with all the vast throng of loved ones, missed from earth, safe about her. Her home instincts were strong her in this fevered world of disappointment. Her affection for friends and kindred was tender and abiding. To the broken-hearted husband, parents, brothers, and sisters, who mourn in sorrow where her footsteps shall never again find echo, we extend the sympathy of the entire community. The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church on Sunday last at 2 p.m., Rev. B. H. Schrein officiating, interment taking place in the Thorp Village Cemetery.
