Nettleton, Mary Ann (12 Oct 1886 - 28 Augl 1907)

Miss Mary Ann Nettleton, daughter of Mrs. J. G. Solomon, who has been employed at the Galloway House, Eau Claire for some time past, was taken ill quite suddenly on the 24th ult., and died at the Eau Claire hospital on Wednesday Aug. 28, 1907. The cause of her illness was a bowel trouble, to relive which, an operation was performed, but the patient failed to rally and in a few hours terminated in death. Miss Nettleton was born in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Oct. 12, 1886, and spent most of her life here. Bright, happy and cheerful, "Mamie" carried sunshine with her wherever she went. She always had a smile and a pleasant word for her friends. Her death comes as a dark shadow to friends and to her relatives who loved her so dearly.

The remains were brought here on Thursday last, the funeral taking place from St. Bernard's Church on Saturday morning, Rev. A. Arentz officiating.
