Pietenpol, Harriet (Marriage - 17 Nov 1916)

Miss Harriet Pietenpol and Mr. Arthur Berg, two well known and popular young people of this vicinity were quietly married at the Presbyterian Manse at Greenwood, Clark County, Wis. last Friday, Nov. 17, 1916, at 10:30 a.m., by the Rev. W.T. Hendren, the Presbyterian minister residing in that city, and who just thirty years earlier on that same date tied the nuptial knot which united the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Pietenpol of the town of York, in the holy bonds of matrimony. That ceremony took place at what is now known as the old Graves place here in the town of York.

The bride is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Pietenpol, a young woman of very lady like and pleasing manners, who makes friends readily and happily holds the friends so made. She was charmingly dressed for the occasion in a blue silk poplin trimmed with Georgette crepe and fur. The happy couple were attended by her sister, Miss Vera, who acted as bridesmaid, and by James N. Kidd, a close friend, who acted as groomsman. The bridal party made a trip by auto to Mr. Neil Downer as Chauffeur, returning here at 1 o'clock, where at the home of the bride's parents a bounteous wedding dinner awaited them. Beside the bridal party only the immediate relatives and Mrs. Almeda Osgood were in attendance.

The groom is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Berg, a young farmer, honest, industrious and thoroughly competent in his chosen profession. The newlyweds immediately took up residence on the groom's farm in the town of Fremont, where they are now cozily settled and at home to their many friends. (Granton News)
