Schwinn, Margaret (Feb 1831 - 13 Oct 1917)

Mrs. Margaret Schwinn died Saturday night, Oct. 13, 1917, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. L. Jacques, in Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. Mrs. Schwinn’s death was due to old age, as she was 86 years and 8 months old. She was born in Germany, grew to womanhood there and was married there. She came to America with her husband in 1852 and settled in Oneida Co., N.Y., where they lived for five years. They moved to Wisconsin and lived in Jefferson and Waukesha Counties. Mr. Schwinn died several years ago; since then Mrs. Schwinn has made her home with her children, for the past two years living here with her daughter, Mrs. George Jacques. She leaves besides her four sons and two daughters: Fred Schwinn of Genessee Dept, Wis., Joseph of Sioux City Iowa, Henry of Tacoma, Wash., Frank of San Francisco; Miss Mary Schwinn of Genessee Depot, and Mrs. Margaret Miller of Seattle, Wash.

The remains were taken to Genessee Monday for interment, the funeral being held from the Catholic Church there.

During her residence here deceased has been in feeble health and has made few acquaintances. That she was a woman of excellence, and her years of strength were well spent in her home life May be well inferred from the character of her children, who have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
