Tompkins, Frank Ann (18 May 1857 - 20 Feb 1929)

Frank Ann Raymond was born at Campbellsport, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, May 18th, 1857, daughter of Eben Delos and Charlotte Melissa (Tuttle) Raymond. When she was eleven years of age she and her parents moved to the Town of Weston, Clark County, Wis., where at the age of seventeen she was united in marriage to James Edward Tompkins, son of Jones and Martha (Lindsey) Tompkins.

They settled on the farm located in the Town of Eaton, and now operated by their son Earl. To this union were born Earl Delos, now operating the home farm, and John living at home. She has been almost totally blind for more than twenty years and for the last nine months has been an invalid and has been very patient during all of her afflictions. She was an ambitious and willing helper, dearly loved by her friends, a loving mother, her first interest was always in her home, her friends and neighbors were always welcome. She was a firm believer in Christ and showed a Christ-like devotion in her interest in the afflictions of others.

She passed away at her home at 10:30 P.M., Wednesday, Feb. 20, 1929. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, James Edward Tompkins and her sons, Earl D. and wife and John, two grandchildren, Lorraine Iris and Nyle Everett Tompkins, also her sisters, Clarissa E., Mrs. Fred Butterfield, Woodland, Washington, Edna V( Mrs. Herbert Fradette) and Ethel Maud (Mrs. Ross Paulson), both of Neillsville, Wis., and one brother, Free Wm. Raymond of Owen, Wis. and twenty three nieces and nephews, thirty three grandnieces and grandnephews and one great grandniece.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church Sunday, Feb. 24th, at 2:00 o’clock P.M., Rev Householder officiating. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
