Henchen, Delmond (3 Jul 1945 - 9 Feb 1978)

Delmond (Butch) Henchen, 32, Route 4, Chetek, Wis., former Greenwood, Clark County, Wis. resident, was killed at Farmington, N.M., on Thursday, Feb. 9 at 9:15 p.m., when he stepped in front of a police car after getting out of his truck. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Douglas Groenewold officiated and burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Delmond (Butch) Henchen was born July 30, 1945 at Globe to Clarence and Agnes Henchen, who preceded him in death. He attended the Globe and Christie Schools. He worked for O.W. Trindal Co. for six years and the last seven years was a truck driver and was employed with E.L. Murphy Trucking Firm out of Minneapolis.

Surviving him are four brothers, Robert, Greenwood; Arthur, Greenwood; Clarence, Jr., Loyal and Ronald, Wyoming; two sisters, Mrs. Victor (Doris) Diercks, Greenwood; and Mrs. Andrew (Clarabelle) Djubenski, Greenwood.

Pallbearers were Mike Benning, Robert Dahlke, William Wold, Donald Johnson, Elmer Redig, and Harold Dillenbeck. The organist was Mrs. Lil Warner and there was congregational singing. "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "I Know My Redeemer Lives" were the songs that were sang.

Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
