AREA RESIDENT DIES AT AGE 84

GREENWOOD - Funeral services will be held here at 2 p.m. Monday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church for Mrs. O. J. Amundson, 84, of Greenwood, Clark County, who died at 4:30 a.m. Friday Apr. 23, 1971 at Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton, where she had been a patient since April 2. The Rev. David Wenger, pastor, will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations May be made at the Hill Funeral Home here from Sunday afternoon until 11 a.m. Monday and then at the church.

The former Olga Marie Olson was born May 23, 1886 in Norway. She came to the United States prior to her marriage, June 27, 1907, in Woodville, Wis., to Orland J. Amundson, who preceded her in death in January of 1953.

After their marriage the couple made their home in Pierre and Rapid City, S.D., and at Baldwin, Emerald and Boyd, Wis., before coming to Greenwood in November of 1928. Her husband had operated a feed business here.

She had been spending the winter months in New Holstein with her daughters and their families, when she became ill and entered the hospital in Chilton.

She was a member of Our Savior’s Luther Church, American Lutheran Church Women, American Legion Auxiliary, Forest Queen Royal Neighbors, and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. August (Bernice) Rushka and Mrs. Robert (Lura) Funke, both of New Holstein, and Mrs. Lorraine Lang, Anaheim, Calif.; a son, Gordon Amundson, Emerald; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Frank (Selma) Lanihan, Los Angeles; and a brother, Sigurd Olson, Deer Park, Wis. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
