Lamont, Effie E. (13 Jan 1891)

Married, at the residence of the bride’s parents, Tuesday evening, Jan. 13, 1891, by Rev. Thos. Biggar, Mr. James Howard Wicker and Miss Effie E. Lamont, both of Colby, Clark Co., Wis.

Howard Wicker is a man of sterling and rugged character. He has passed the period of life from boyhood to manhood in Colby. All the acts of his life have been cumulative in the development of a genuine manhood and a sturdy self reliance, until now he stands forth as one of the model young men of the village.

His bride is a young lady, who has been a successful teacher, and whose excellent traits of character have won her a circle of friends limited only by the extent of her acquaintances. The young couple go to housekeeping immediately.

The presents given them by friends were useful and ornamental, including articles of household furniture, table linen & cutlery, and other articles that will go far towards the furnishing of their house.

About one hundred and twenty-five guests attended the ceremony, and the young people start out in life with the sincerest best wishes of hosts of friends.
