Oestreich, Wilhelmine (8 JUN 1839 - 11 NOV 1931)

Wilhelmine Oestreich (Paulus) was born in Michalsburg, Schoerier Germany, June 8, 1839. In infancy she was baptized and later instructed in the Christian doctrine in the Lutheran Church. She was a faithful member and splendid example of a Christian living, being an only child who was orphaned in childhood.

In 1866 she was married to J. Oestreich to which union were born 8 sons and one daughter. Five sons and her daughter, also her husband preceded her in death. For 27 years she remained on her farm, being one of the oldest pioneers of this section., having attained the age of 92 years, 5 months and 3 days. About six weeks ago her health began to fail. Wednesday evening Holy Communion was given her by Rev. Leschensky and at 11:00 P. M. she quietly passed away.

She leaves to mourn her loss 3 sons, John of Birnamwood, Fred and Henry of Marshfield; 28 grand children, 26 great grand children and a host of other relatives and friends.

The pall bearers were her grand sons: Albert, Bernard, Milton, Everett, Ralph and Christian Oestreich.

The flower girls were four grand daughters: Mrs. Lena Bubolz, Mrs. Alma Krieg, Mrs. Rilla Bones, Josephine Oestreich, also Mrs. Everett Oestreich and Mrs., Harold Oestreich.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. John Oestreich of Birnamwood, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Oestreich, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Oestreich, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Oestreich, Mrs., Fred Oestreich, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Oestreich and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Oestreich, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schlafke, Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Schlafke, Mr. and Mrs., Aug. Bubolz, Mr. and Mrs. John Rembs, all of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Schlafke of Wabeno, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schlafke of Oshkosh, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Oestreich and daughter Adeline, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Fredericks of Stratford, Mrs. Alma Kreig of Arpin, Mrs. Alex McNevin, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Oestreich and children of Rhinelander.
