Smith Blanche (22 AUG 1922)

A very pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Sam Smith on Thursday August 22 at two o'clock when their daughter, Blanche, was united in marriage to Mr. George Braun, son of Mr. & Mrs. Frederick Braun of Greenwood. The bride wore a charming dress of white georgette and lace with a veil and orange blossoms and carried a shower bouquet of roses and sweet peas. The groom wore the conventional black. The bride was attended by her sister, Catherine Smith who wore a dress of tan georgette and carried a bouquet of tea roses. Mr. Elmer Braun, cousin of the groom, acted as best man. The parlor was prettily decorated in blue and white and the dining room in autumn leaves and pink. Just the immediate families were present at the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. E. M. Bickell of Greenwood. After the ceremony the guests partook of a sumptuous wedding dinner prepared by the bride's mother, after which the young couple left for a short wedding trip. On their return they will be at home to their friends on the groom's farm in the town of Reseburg. Their many friends join the Gleaner in extending congratulations and best wishes for many happy years of wedded life.
