NEILLSVILLE -Gerald James LaValley, 72, of Neillsville died Monday, May 30, 2005, at his residence in Neillsville.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2005, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Gerald's family with the arrangements.

Gerald was born Dec. 26, 1932, in Superior, the son of George and Mary (Stanski) LaValley. He then served two years in the U.S. Army in France following his education. Gerald was united in marriage to Mary (Waldum) LaValley on June 25, 1955. He worked throughout Wisconsin, retiring from National Development Corporation in 1990. He worked for Chili Implement for a number of years. Gerald was a founder of the Tri-City National Bank and served on the board of directors. He also was the owner of Neillsville's Grandview Mobil Home Park.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Mary; four sons, Gerald (Donna) LaValley, Neillsville, Robert (Julie) LaValley, New Castle, Calif., Steven (Laura) LaValley, Superior, Richard (Claire) LaValley, Merrill; one daughter, Laura (Tom) Flanagan, South Milwaukee; 11 brothers and sisters; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
