Anderson, Echo Ellen (7 Nov. 1919 – 30 May 2005)

DORCHESTER - Echo Ellen Anderson, 85, Birchwood, died Monday, May 30, 2005, at her home.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. Burial will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. A rosary service will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born Nov. 7, 1919, in Dorchester to Raymond and Leona (Lotzer) Krakenberger. She married John Mertens on Feb. 2, 1938. They moved to Missoula, Mont., in 1955, where she drove semi, hauling beer to Missoula and lumber back to Wisconsin. John died in April 1958. Echo and Peter Anderson were married Feb. 24, 1960. She drove school buses from 1969 to 1972 when they moved to Birchwood. She was a bookkeeper for Cedar Lake Builders.

She is survived by her husband, Peter Anderson of Birchwood; her children, Johnny Ray (Ginny) Mertens, Tripoli, Greg (Dolly) Mertens, Milwaukee, Jeff (Patty) Mertens, Rice Lake, Kurt (Kathy) Mertens, Colby, and Cindi (Greg) Robotka, Birchwood; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Elaine Everson, Venzua, Calif.
